Another Zoom Monologue, Another Year in Shutdown, How Did We Fare?

As we were approaching the holidays of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas in 2021, our country was just beginning to open up again to the smart people -- those who had taken Covid seriously and stayed home until we had vaccines to keep us out of the hospitals. We had finally gotten our vaccines this year, and although there were the fights with those who refused to get vaccinated, the majority of people saw vaccinations as the way to remain healthy and get back to our normal way of life. The entertainment industry was still feeling it's way and most activity was still online. We were just beginning to see our families again.

It had been almost a year since I had performed the Christmas monologue on Zoom with Neo Ensemble Theatre LA where Mrs. Fishman had gotten locked out of her son's Christmas party because the country was in lockdown and her son was cleverly using the "stay safe, stay home" mantra as a ploy to not have to deal with his annoying mother.

So I asked our brilliant writer Scott Mullen for an updated look at where this family would be for Thanksgiving. After all, for me, Thanksgiving has always been the most important family holiday of the year. So on October 26, 2021, I performed Scott Mullen's wonderful monologue, "Locked Out Again" for our Zoom Holiday NeoFest. If interested, you can view the monologue here on the monologues page.
